Vision

Where there is no vision, the people perish”  Proverbs 29:18 (KJV)

Our vision is based upon Proverbs 13:12 which states, “Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but desire fulfilled is a tree of life.” (NASB)

Where there is no hope, no vision, the people perish. People are perishing everyday in our world because they have no hope. Our vision is that people would receive hope through Jesus Christ. He is hope (1 Timothy 1:1) and we are His people, so we are to be hope-givers to our world.

Our dream is that these life-giving words would become a reality here at First Assembly. We might truly become “a place of H.O.P.E.”; a place where people can encounter hope through Presence, experience hope through power, embrace hope through purpose and engage hope through the passion of Jesus Christ and His people.

Our vision is to:
#1) Encounter hope through Presence
Relationship is the cornerstone of our lives. When we encounter the Presence of God we realize our deep need for relationship with Him. When we encounter the presence of God’s people in our lives it gives us hope for our own lives.

#2) Experience hope through Power
Once you encounter something you can begin to experience it. We experience hope through the power of God and the power of God’s people in the world. The hopeless receive hope when they see that power is available to everyone.

#3) Embrace hope through Purpose
Once you encounter something and begin experiencing it you then begin to embrace it as a lifestyle. We embrace hope through realizing God’s purpose for our lives. When we can see it we will live it. Without a vision people die, with a vision people change the world.

#4) Engage hope through Passion
The way you engage hope to a world full of hopelessness is through passion. The passion of Jesus is to seek that which is lost through preaching, teaching, giving, healing, encouraging, feeding, clothing, visiting and loving. His passion becomes our passion and therefore we cannot keep it to ourselves, we have to engage our culture.
